GENOMICS AND BIOINFORMATICS GROUP
The Genomics and Bioinformatics Group focuses on pathogen genomics, Machine Learning, Human genetics, host pathogen interactions and Drug resistance.
The Group is primarily active within the Genomics & Bioinformatics Lab and the Cell and Immunology Lab.
ABOUT THE GROUP
The Genomics and Bioinformatics Group focuses on pathogen genomics, Machine Learning, Human genetics, host pathogen interactions and Drug resistance.
The group is led byDr Lucas Amenga-Etego, a Senior Research Fellow and a specialist in genetic epidemiology and microbiology. His previous research with MalariaGEN dovetailed into his DPhil studies, which focused on P. falciparum population genetics and host-parasite interactions using whole genome Illumina short read sequencing of P. falciparum data from clinical sources.
The group is open to inquiries from highly motivated budding scientists about research opportunities and also welcomes opportunities for collaborative endeavours.
The Group currently has active collaborative partnerships with the Crick African Network and the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research.
